The u3a will only use your email address in relation to their administration and associated activities, but it will be the main method of communication.

Cost of membership

The cost of Teign u3a membership for a full year is

Full Membership - £30.00 (from October £15.00 for half a year).

Associate Membership - £22.50 (from October £15.00 for half a year).

The year runs from 1st April to 31st March, half year 1st October to 31st March

Gift Aid Declaration (for past, present & future donations)

If you wish the Gift Aid scheme to apply to your Membership contributions and they are paid by an Income Tax payer, please read the following declaration and select the Gift Aid 'Yes' option when completing the joining form.

Please treat as Gift Aid donations all qualifying monetary gifts made today, in the past 4 years, and in the future. I confirm that an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) has been paid, or will be paid and that this is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the Charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) to which I donate will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify and that the charity named will reclaim 25p tax on every £1 I donate.

Note: If Income Tax is paid at the higher or additional rate and you want to receive the additional tax relief due, all Gift Aid donations must be included on a Self Assessment tax return, or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust the relevant tax code.

Please notify us if you:
- Want to cancel this declaration
- No longer pay sufficient tax on income and/or capital gains.
- Change your name, or home address

Emergency Contact Number

We would encourage all members to provide an emergency contact number of someone who is unlikely to be participating in a u3a activity at the same time as yourself. This will only be used in case of emergency during u3a activities (e.g. someone taken ill, or had an accident).

Member Details Retention

By submission of the online joining form you agree to the inclusion of your details in the u3a membership database. The database will only be used for administration purposes in line with the  u3a Data Protection Policy, a copy of which can be provided by the Membership Secretary.

Privacy Statement

You are advised that the membership information you have provided to us will be held on computer data files and as a paper record for use solely by Teign u3a.  These purposes include distribution of the Newsletter, communication with members and maintenance of subscription records.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations, we ask that you give us permission, by signing the above application, to use the information you have supplied

Your data will be used in the following ways:

  • To store it securely for membership purposes.
  • To communicate with you as a u3a member.
  • To share with group leaders for those groups that you are a member of.
  • To send you general information about the Third Age Trust (the national organisation) to which u3a's are affiliated.

Photographic / Video Images

During some of our activities or organised events, photographs or video may be taken to help in promoting Teign u3a through marketing opportunities. Should you not wish to be included in the photographs or videos please advise the organiser at the time. You have the right to withdraw your permission to use your images at any future time by contacting the Secretary.
