Our walk on meet at Town Quay 10.30 and walk past the railway bridge bearing to the left we can exit the marshes though the housing estate. There is a slight incline. We then bear right on the road towards Passage House taking care with the traffic. We carry on over the railway down towards Passage House Inn for coffee. Then walk home along the river and under the railway bridge back to Town Quay.

Friday 6th November. A guided amble around Ashburton. The first free bus from NA is at 9.55, getting to Ashburton Bull Ring at 10.15, then walk along Kingsbridge Lane opposite the bus stop to outside Ashburton information centre, where there is covered outdoor space by the community fridge. That's also at the bottom of the town car park so walkers could car-pool from NA. It would be a "different" walk in that I cannot help but rave about Ashburton's historical features! The first half of the walk would be relatively flat - the historic features and businesses I recommend (if raining lots of indoor stops possible) with a gentle hill up to the halfway good-cause cafe which would reserve a table for us. The second half of the walk involves a hill - folk could miss that by returning direct to a bus-stop - but the latter part of the walk involves Terrace Walk with spectacular views and a return along historic North Street. Buses back to NA at 11.50 or 12.50.
