Group Description :
The group meets EACH month on the 3rd WEDNESDAY at the St Pauls Church Hall, Devon Square, Newton Abbot from 14:00 to 16:00.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 20th August 2025
We meet to develop and share the skills required to research our ancestors and explore the world in which they lived.
We do this through sharing and presentations about our experiences of researching our ancestors, exploring challenges group members are having during their research and we share our knowledge. Recent topics we have covered included: using on line records to help solve 'brick walls', sharing family stories and the many resources we have used to do this, and hearing about a family book. We hope to look at 'reading old writing', 'how to keep files in order', and we always have more family stories we have discovered or related projects and can share.
This group is currently full and we do have a beginners group running concurrently. A waiting list is available to welcome new members, both those with experience and those who are new to genealogy.
