Group Details For Discussion

Group Description :
The Discussion Group meets on the afternoon of the 1st Tuesday of each month at Newton's Place (the museum building). At each meeting one member presents a topic of their own choice for discussion. The subject matter varies but frequently deals with an issue where there are conflicting viewpoints; the idea is to encourage a lively (but civilised!) debate. Topics covered in the past have included corporate remuneration, food banks, should there be reparations for slavery?, etc. Everybody is encouraged to contribute to the discussion, although with the current numbers in the group each member will only have to present a topic about once per year. There is space to accommodate a few more members if anybody wishes to join.
